Social desirability in online psychological evaluations
Main Article Content
Abstract
The psychological evaluation demands new challenges. The current situation invites us to reflect on the procedures that are currently being carried out, the so-called face-to-face evaluations where the patient interacts. However, as stated above, psychological evaluation has taken on new perspectives. Currently, online evaluations are carried out and it must be sought that the parameters are maintained in the same way as in the face-to-face evaluations, before this a fundamental characteristic is analyzed in the personality evaluations, the image that a person provides before the evaluation, which it is known as social desirability. The objective of this work was to analyze if there are differences between the face-to-face evaluation and the online evaluation of the social desirability indicator. To do this, the MCMI - III was applied in person and online to 40 subjects treated through psychological consultation. The 40 subjects were divided into two groups (Group 1 and 2). The results show some differences and similarities when comparing the results in both types of MCMI-III applications. It is concluded that social desirability is present in both types of evaluation and constitutes an indicator to be evaluated in future research.
